Interview - Abra Ebner

Interview with Abra Ebner:

*Your book, The Knight Angels, is going to be launched here in Brazil this mounth, what is your expectation for the launchement? When you finished writing it, did you think it would be translataded into so many languages and read in other parts of the world?
The only thing I ever hope for in a book launch is that someone out there is reading my words, and they love it! I'm not about fame or money, just sharing a story with friends. I consider all my readers my friends, because after reading my book, they will know more about me than people I've known for years do. My stories are personal to me. I just want to touch a life.

*How did you get to writing The Knight Angels and how many books do you pretend to write for this series? I started thinking about the concept of Knight Angels when I was writing my first series, Feather. I had an angel in Feather, and I really enjoyed that character. I found myself having a hard time concentrating on ending that series because of it. Guardian Angels are my thing, and I very strongly believe in them.

*You, such as Meg Cabot and Alyson Noël, are a model for young writers and readers from around the world (including me). How do you fell about it?

I love it. Alyson Noel is one of my favorite authors because her style is loose and different from anything else out there. She's not afraid to allow a simple thing like love in a relationship rule the plot of a book. Teens are vulnerable to the world, especially love. This subject is huge to them, and I believe it's good to dare to talk about every aspect of it.

*I love your blog, always go there to check your posts. have a blog/site/twitter is a way of getting closer to your fans? How is your relationship with them?
I always try to answer my fans and be there like a friend. I live in a small town in America and I don't have many friends close by. It's my social outlet, and I always have someone to talk to! Twitter/Facebook/and blogs also give me an outlet to share things that are exciting to me, whether it's my garden, new jeans, or weather.

*With Knight Angels, you have many other books. What have you been working wiht lately?
Mostly Knight Angels #2. I just today got an offer to publish in Turkey as well, and this stuff also keeps me busy. I've been writing a children's chapter book not unlike Harry Potter in feel for the last two years. I'm taking my time with this one because aside from writing I'm an artist, so I want to make all my own drawings.

*What do you like to do when you aren´t writing? Read, listening music, play sports...?
Golf. Right now it's all about golf. It changes for sure. I rode horses for 15 years, love to snowboard and wakeboard, swim, bike, draw, garden, bake... You name it, I've probably done it.

*What kind of books do you like? Some are reading now?
Right now I'm reading Iron King, Dark Flame, and Linger. I like the same books I write for the most part. I think everyone will agree that they are addicting!

*What kind of music do you like? Some favorite band...?
Dave Matthews Band has been my life long favorite since I can remember, but I also love Staind, Linkin Park, Nickelback, and some country music when I'm in the mood. My guilty pleasure is soft music, like Diana Krall.

*What is the best thing about writing? And the worst?
The best thing is getting to be at home all day, and incidentally it's the worst, though still not bad. I get a little bored of being inside all the time, but that's why I turn to activities like golf to get me outside and on a good course. Nature is where I can really think.

*Do you have something in common with your characters? Yes, edginess and a daring attitude. I like to take matters into my own hands, and I'm not afraid to take on a challenge, as most authors aren't.

*Everyone is anxious for the launching of Knight Angels. If you could leave a message for your fans, what message would you leave? I can't wait to see my words in Portuguese! And I already love all my future fans. I've talked with a lot of you already!!

*Thank you very much for the interview. It was amazing. I love talking to you, Abra. ^-^

Thank you Vitoria!!!!!
